Battlefield Bad company 2 patch R8/R16 in final testing

Bad company 2

Battlefield Bad company 2 patch R8/R16 in final testing.

Yes, we've all heard this before haven't we, but it seems that after 4 extra revisions for the server files and 3 delays caused by issues cropping up in the Quality Assurance phase, the R8 client and R16 server files are almost ready to be released. We can expect the patch at around the 20th of May.

Included in this version are fixes for lag between EA's master server and the game servers, DX9 texture issues, VSync problems in Win 7 machines and fixes for the 'spawn lag' caused by the kit loadout saving process. Also present are some new features such as the ability to toggle the couch and aim-down-sight buttons, no longer will your pinky cry out in pain after hiding behind that concrete block for so long! Additional features such as the ability to disable profanity filters in server chat, a player chat log, various weapon and level adjustments and finally receiving points after death are welcome changes.

Well, it's been a few days... and a MONTH. But DICE still appear to be no closer to patching this game than conspiracy theorists proving that Santa Claus exists. With a whole list of excuses for delays ranging from coding errors to Romanian transport strikes (really!) It looks like we'll have to wait a while more before this broken game gets the attention it needs, before it bleeds out.
